There's something quite endearing about a couple when you see their relationship as almost a reflection of your own. It's hilarious, telling, and very encouraging - little bits and pieces here and there that make me go "US TOO!" from behind the camera. Things like the way Tommy made the same face at least three separate times when Grace kissed him because of her bright red lipstick, the comment about heels and height ("We're the same size!"), and the way Grace laughed at how Tommy struggled to think of something romantic to say to her on the spot. This is real life, this is real relationships!
I was thrilled to shoot again at the Clos LaChance Winery and even more thrilled to be documenting Grace and Tommy's wedding day in it. I was incredibly motivated by how many moments they shared with their family and friends. Tommy's sister Megan duetted with David Choi for the dances (with a solid high five after!), Grace's father hugged his daughter at the beginning of the ceremony just long enough to make everyone cry, and we caught Tommy's dad with the most excited expression on his face that I've ever seen when the newlyweds made their grand entrance into the reception.
Grace and Tommy, you guys and your families are so freaking awesome. Thank you so much for sharing such an amazing day with me! It was an honor to document it for you.
